Rough Trade East: duelling with the downloaders
Young-looking but very experienced – as comes with the territory when you've worked at a company such as Rough Trade for so long – Godfroy has been involved in the company for over a decade. He approaches the topic of music – how it's sold and his new creation – with a quiet but utterly impassioned zeal. Obvious questions first: why here and why now? “Because it's the right time to do it in terms of opening a great big, large record store, when the majority of record stores are so shit." Immediately, he turns his attack onto a favourite theme: “The average high street retailer has commoditised music and turned it into what may as well be a bar of soap as a new album. “ We're hoping to make a statement where people re-evaluate or reaffirm that music retailers have the same amount of passion for music.

Internet Company Sued for Holding Names
A company that sells Internet addresses is being sued for its controversial practice of holding a domain name in reserve if someone checks for its availability but does not buy it right away. Although Network Solutions LLC termed its new program a consumer-protection measure, the moves make it difficult for interested parties to shop around for better prices. The company charges $35 a year for a name — a few times more than what many of its rivals charge. The lawsuit against Network Solutions was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles by Chris McElroy, a Florida man who checked for "KidSearchNetwork.com" at Network Solutions without buying it, then learned it was unavailable elsewhere. The lawsuit, which seeks class-action status, calls for an end to the practice and unspecified damages.

A super guide for Super Tuesday
Both candidates are reportedly spending seven-figure amounts in several Super Tuesday states. Watch the candidates' air wars » California is a crucial win state for either party's candidates. At stake for Republicans: 170 delegates -- a figure that makes up 14.3 percent of delegate votes needed to win the nomination. For Democrats, the 370 delegates at stake will be divided among the candidates in proportion to votes they receive in the primary. McCain, who received an endorsement from California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, could truly benefit. In the Florida primary, exit polls showed that Gov. Charlie Crist's endorsement helped McCain win the contest. Other GOP candidates in the race -- Mike Huckabee and Texas Rep. Ron Paul -- face an uphill challenge money-wise and momentum-wise.
